Mahjong Ways — PG Soft
The unique visual theme of mahjong tiles and an introduction to the game
Mahjong Ways is a video slot by PG Soft inspired by the traditional tile symbols of the Chinese mahjong game. The game has 6 reels and 4 rows — a layout different from the standard 5×3 slot — creating 4,096 ways to win with no separate paylines required.
The game's visuals feature dragon, bamboo, circle and character tiles — all arranged with golden ornamentation. A calm natural background and soft Asian music give the game a distinctive atmosphere. It is especially suited to players who want depth in gameplay alongside striking animations.
PG Soft is known as an Asia-focused developer and their games run without interruption on mobile. Mahjong Ways can be played at 77bet directly from the browser — no separate software installation is needed.
The process of a spin from setting the bet to forming a win
Before each spin in Mahjong Ways, the player needs to set their bet. There is usually a "Bet" or "Coin Value" slider that lets you decide how much to wager per spin. Keeping the bet low makes the session last longer; raising it also increases the potential win amount.
The game uses a Cascading Reels mechanic. This means that when a winning combination forms, those symbols are removed and new symbols fall from above — creating the chance to win multiple times in the same spin. Winning paths are formed by matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right.
The bonus round is triggered when three or more specific scatter symbols appear together. A multiplier is added in the free spins round, which increases with each cascade. The Wild symbol can replace any symbol except the scatter and helps complete winning paths.
The highest win potential in the game is greatest during free spins, especially when the multiplier climbs high. The maximum win can reach several hundred times the bet, though this depends on the bet size and game conditions.

Which type of player is Mahjong Ways best suited for
Mahjong Ways is a medium to high volatility game. Volatility refers to how often and how much the game pays out. In a high volatility game, small wins come less often but the chance of a large win is greater. In a low volatility game, small wins come frequently.
From a budget perspective — for those who want a long session on a relatively limited budget, it is better to start with small bets. This makes the session last longer and gives more chances to experience the bonus features. With large bets and fewer spins, there is a risk of running out of balance before hitting free spins.
From a session length perspective — the game works well for quick sessions too, since there is an autospin feature. Keep in mind, though, that it can take several dozen spins to reach the free spins bonus. Those who are patient and willing to wait for the bonus round enjoy it the most.
This game is especially suited to those who are new to the slots section at 77bet and want to start with a familiar theme (mahjong). Familiarity with Asian culture makes the game's visuals even more appealing.

Top RTP 96.92%Know before you play — some useful tips
-
Start in demo mode: If demo mode is available for Mahjong Ways at 77bet, make use of it. It is the best way to understand the game's mechanics without using real money — especially to see how the cascade system works and how free spins are triggered.
-
Set your session budget in advance: Decide on a fixed budget before each session. For example, if you sit down with ৳500, decide before it runs out — when you will stop. Playing at the minimum bet within your budget gives more spins and increases the chance of hitting a bonus round.
-
Follow a stop limit: Set a "stop" limit after a win. For example, decide in advance that you will end the session when your balance doubles — setting this rule beforehand reduces the tendency to keep playing on impulse.
-
Take breaks: Avoid long uninterrupted sessions. Taking breaks from time to time keeps decision-making clear and makes the experience more enjoyable.
-
Read the paytable: Check the "paytable" or information section within the game to learn the value of each symbol and the details of special features. This helps with bet planning.

Common myths about slots and the true answers
Before playing Mahjong Ways or any slot, it is important to be aware of some common misconceptions. Knowing these helps you avoid unnecessary decisions.
How Mahjong Ways differs from other slot styles
In a standard 5×3 slot, wins are payline-based and a winning combination must form on a specific line in each spin. Mahjong Ways does not work that way — it uses 4,096 Ways technology on a 6×4 grid, so a win occurs when the same symbol appears on adjacent reels in any position.
Many classic slots have no cascade — each spin produces only one outcome. But in Mahjong Ways, the cascade mechanic makes multiple wins possible in a single spin. This is somewhat similar to Megaways-style games, but the mechanics are entirely different.
Pragmatic Play's Gates of Olympus and Sweet Bonanza also have cascades, but their themes and symbols are different. Mahjong Ways's mahjong tile system gives it a distinct identity. PG Soft's other popular game Mahjong Ways 2 shares the same theme, but has an additional multiplier mechanic.
The slots section at 77bet carries slots in many different styles from developers including PG Soft, Pragmatic Play and JILI. If you want a classic-feel slot, you will find it; if you want a Megaways-style slot, that is there too. Mahjong Ways is ideal for those who like cascade mechanics and an Asian theme.

Mahjong Ways vs Mahjong Ways 2 — What's the Difference
Following the success of Mahjong Ways, PG Soft developed Mahjong Ways 2, which also has a maximum RTP of 96.95%. Both games are built around the same mahjong theme, but Mahjong Ways 2 includes some additional mechanics.
Mahjong Ways 2 features a special Mahjong Wild Multiplier that can activate multipliers even in the base game. The rate at which multipliers increase during free spins is also somewhat different. However, the core grid (6×4) and 4,096 Ways structure remain the same.
For those already familiar with Mahjong Ways, Mahjong Ways 2 can be the next step. For newcomers, though, it is better to start with the first one — the mechanics are simpler and the bonus features take less time to understand.
